Father/Daughter Dance

Our church had a Father/Daughter dance recently. Meghan took her dad. She looked WAY too grown up. But they had a nice time. Terry got her a corsage and she taught him the Macarena. Is that spelled right?

Halloween 2008

This was Andrew's Halloween parade.
A strange crowd of aliens. I don't know how they got on my camera.

Meghan was Peter pan. (Be kind, I made the costume.) Andrew was Ben 10. Look at all our great pumpkins!

This is Abigail and illustrates the dangers of donut bobbing.

We had a fairly cold Halloween. The kids had to definitely wear coats on the trick or treat night. They call it Beggar's Night here because you don't always trick or treat on Halloween. The city decides when it will be. This year since Halloween fell on a Friday, we went trick or treating on Thursday. About the donut bobbing, Andrew lost his first tooth at his class party by donut bobbing.

The First Day of School 2008

School this year started very smoothly. It was warm and the kids were so excited. Meghan got on the bus in the morning with the Burnside Lane crowd. Andrew is in afternoon kindergarten so he had to get on the bus all alone. He looked like I was sending him off to prison at first. He was scared to get on the bus by himself but he got off in the afternoon all happy. He has been a pro ever since.

Looking Back at September

There's a dog going for Sadie's ball. Swim Sadie, swim!

Well, this is pretty pathetic that I am so far behind. We have had a good fall and start to winter so far. In September, just after Labor Day, our city pool had a Pooch in the Pond day. Dogs were allowed into the pool for an hour. They made the most of that hour for sure. It was the funniest thing I have seen in a while. There were dogs everywhere. They were jumping over each other, stealing toys from each other. Sadie had not been swimming before I think and we took her to see how she'd react. At first she looked at me like I was nuts but she got the hang of swimming and had a ball! People were allowed to enter the pool up to our knees. Needless to say we were still soaked. Meghan went in with me. I was surprised that Sadie wasn't worn out after we got home. She wanted to keep playing ball.

Andrew 's big days

Andrew had a Mother's Day party at his preschool last May. I got a flower from him and we sat together and ate strawberry shortcake which he had prepared himself. I was so proud of him. And he was thrilled to have me with him in school.

Firsts for Meghan

Meghan also made her First Communion this past May. She looked so nice in her dress with her hair all fixed up. The picture with her and Andrew was funny. She decided they should fold their hands like this.

These pictures were taken at Meghan's first piano recital. She felt a little nervous at first but she did a great job.

Phoenix Arizona

For Terry's ABA convention this year we went to Phoenix. (ABA is American Baking Assoc. of course.) His mom Donna stayed with the kids while we enjoyed a rest from the cold and snow for a week.

These pictures were taken at Taliessen, a school created bt Frank Lloyd Wright. (He's Terry's hero)

Meghan had a painting put into a student art show this year. It was a self portrait.

Easter was a very nice time for us. The kids looked good. We had an Easter egg hunt at church

Year in Review

Well now that I am back on board I will give a brief overview of the things I should have been posting all year. We had a lot of snow in one storm. Columbus called it the Blizzard of 2008. While it wasn't actually, technically a blizzard, it was a lot of snow.

Trip to Washington DC

OK! After much pestering and hassle from Tim about updating this blog, I am finally going to make a new entry. We have spent the week here in Virginia with Tim and Tonya and he has downloaded my photos so I have no choice but to post them.
We had a great time in DC. The kids liked the Smithsonian. Andrew loved the dinosaurs. Look Kathy, we went to the NASA exhibit!

Meghan Washington

Meghan has been studying famous people in her class. She chose George Washington to do a report on. The kids wrote a report and dressed like their subject and presented the report to their parents.

I sewed the jacket she has on. I think I did a pretty good job!

Sadie

Sadie came to our family at the beginning of January. She has blended easily with our little group. After a traumatice first week including being spayed and having teeth cleaned plus all shots she has found her place here.
She loves her bed and her stuffed teddy bear. She carries it or a ball with her at all times. She is quite a character. She is very sweet and we love her.

Feb. 23, 2008 entry

We all went sledding today on the Bunny Hill. The sculptures are about 10 feet tall. That's Terry and the kids at the very top. It was a gorgeous day with sunshine and blue sky.

Agreat time was had by all.

Terry was very sore after riding with Meghan and Andrew over and over.

We wore Sadie out after chasing her ball non-stop.

We Have a Blog

Well after much time and many complaints from Tim I have finally set up a Bartsch family blog. I welcome suggestions as I really don't know what I'm doing. But here it.
