In May, the whole 4th grade went on a trip to Camp Cotubic here in Ohio. I went along with Meghan as a chaperone. Here you see Meg and some of her friends getting ready in the gym.

I think the truth set in that she would be roughing it a bit.

They were able to do lots of cool things at camp. They all had 5 sessions to attend. There was fishing in a catch and release pond.

We all tried archery. Meghan did very well. She got onto the target and even got close to the bullseye with one arrow.

Me, not so much. Shooting an arrow is a lot harder than it looks.

They had a huge dodgeball tournament. The whole group of 5 classes went against the adults. It was amazing. I'm not sure if there was a winning side, but it was fun.

Between sessions and after meals, this man led Simon Says and I have never seen anyone as good as him. The kids loved him! He was so tricky. I was among the last 10 in one game. He asked me and another mom to come forward and then made us sit down because he didn't say Simon Says. Bummer.
Along with the fishing and archery, there was a session on the eco system, a wilderness survival session and a session on edible plants. The kids also had a big barn dance and a night at a bon fire with camp songs. We were all very tired at the end of the trip, but happy with a great time.
